INEOS said Thursday it agreed to buy a Texas City chemicals facility from Eastman Chemical Co., furthering the growing global chemical company's footprint in Texas. The $500 million deal is expected to close later this year. INEOS plans to invest in expansions to the site, the companies said. INEOS already operates several chemicals facilities in East Texas, including three in the Houston area and one in Port Arthur. Earlier this year, the company ventured for the first time into the Texas oil and gas market when it bought Chesapeake Energy's Eagle Ford assets for $1.
