Austin may soon be home to the tallest building in Texas, eventually taking away the long-held title from Houston's 1,002-feet-tall JPMorgan Chase tower. However, the state capitol still doesn't hold a candle to the Bayou City's overall height. When combined, Houston's high-rises reach a total of 30,498 feet in height, making it the tallest city in Texas, according to a report by Texas Real Estate Source. "It was no surprise to see Houston take first place," Texas Real Estate Source said in its report.
