Flight cancellations are mounting early Wednesday as dangerous winter weather extends across the Southeast this week.A winter storm warning will remain in effect until Thursday morning across swaths of north and central Texas, with mostly freezing rain and sleet expected in the area, the National Weather Service in Fort Worth warned. More than 1,400 U.S. flights were canceled around 7 a.m. ET Tuesday, with around 500 more delayed, according to flight-tracking website FlightAware. Southwest and American Airlines, which are both based in Texas, saw the most cancellations, scrapping around 12% and 16% of their schedule respectively.
